New Local COVID Cases Update & Entry Lockdown in Chinese Taiwan!

China reported 25 new COVID-19 cases, up from 18 cases a day earlier and marking the highest daily increase in more than six weeks, the country's national health authority said on Monday.

Liaoning Province - 4 new local cases today, 10 medium risk areas in total

The Health Commission of Liaoning Province announced that, from 0:00 to 19:00 of May 17, 4 new cases of Covid-19 infection were confirmed in Liaoning, including 2 cases in Shenyang and 2 cases in Yingkou (1 case was turned from former asymptomatic case)

Anhui - 0 new local cases today, 7 medium risk areas in total

As of 12:00 on the 17th, Anhui Province has reported a total of 7 confirmed cases and 7 asymptomatic cases.

As of 13:00 on the 17th, 1064107 citizens in Liu’an have accepted nucleic acid sampling, and the results are all negative, except those who have been reported as confirmed cases and asymptomatic infections. 

189,817 citizens in Hefei have accepted nucleic acid sampling, and the results are all negative, except for the reported confirmed cases and a few new samples under testing(34 people).

Chinese Taiwan - 335 new cases today, entry lockdown starts on 19th

The (Chinese) Taiwan Epidemic Control Center announced today that there have been 335 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 on May 17th, including 333 local cases and 2 imported cases.

Among the 333 new local cases, 158 are in Taipei City, and 148 are in New Taipei City.

According to statistics, in the past six days, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Chinese Taiwan has reached 451, plus the 333 new local cases today,there have been 784 local cases in one week.

In view of the rising epidemic situation, the Chinese Taiwan region will start implementing a lockdown of entry and exit from 0:00 on May 19.

According to regulations: (1) People who do not hold a valid residence permit (including a residence visa) in the Chinese Taiwan area will be postponed to enter the region, except for emergency or humanitarian reasons. (2) Suspension will be carried out for passengers who transit in Chinese Taiwan. 

The entry lockdown will last until June 18 and will be adjusted in due course according to the epidemic situation and implementation status.
